Strains were cultured either in liquid LBS or high-viscosity LBS (+5% polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)) and harvested at mid exponential growth. Strain ID and growth media are as follows: VF070-72, MJ11 wildtype liquid; VF073-75, MJ11 wildtype PVP;VF076-78, LAS35E11 liquid; VF079-81, LAS35E11 PVP; VF082-84, LAS22A10 liquid; VF085-87, LAS22A10 PVP; VF088-90, LAS2B10, PVP; VF091-93, LAS2F2, PVP; VF094-96, LAS26E1, PVP; VF097-99, LAS28G4, PVP.
